CAPSTONE CANADA: FULL SPECTRUM BIRTHWORK TRAINING

Re-imagining the future of radical and political birthwork in the Canadian context in a 13 week hybrid program. Learn more about what you'll learn in Capstone Canada, who it's for, and how to sign up!

WHO IS CAPSTONE CANADA FOR?

Capstone Canada is for everyone!

You don't need to be a doula or birthworker to join our training. If you're interested in reproductive health, equity, and justice - this training is for you! An understanding of birth is welcomed, but not necessary! We're calling in all careworkers, healthcare providers, doulas, teachers, policy writers, parents, nannies - anyone and everyone! We welcome you in our training to learn ways we can radicalize birthwork.

what is capstone canada?

Capstone Canada is a 13 week program designed to re-imagine the future of political and radical birthwork and deepen our understanding of reproductive justice in the Canadian context.

You will join a small cohort of radical birthworkers to dig deep into the course content, and to build community together. We keep these cohorts small to provide space for connection and dialogue, so space is limited.

This course is a hybrid class, which means you will have weekly modules to complete on your own, and you will also join live (Zoom) classes once per week where we host our incredible guest speakers to add to your already transformative learning experience.

This course is closed captioned.

Across the ocean, the land I call home is called Surigao del Sur. Through migration, my father first settled in Scarborough, the ancestral lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. In 2003, my mother and I joined him and migrated to settle on Turtle Island.

Today, I am settled and operating in Guelph, Ontario, and acknowledge that this is the ancestral lands of the Attawandaron/Chonnonton, the Anishinaabe, and Haudenosaunee peoples and the treaty lands and territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit. I recognize the significance of the Dish with One Spoon Covenant to this land and offer our respect and gratitude to all of the Indigenous peoples of Turtle Island who have stewarded, loved & defended this land for centuries.
